"I can assure you, Commander," she grates out, "I don't consider this to be a game of any sort. And now that you've torn my house to pieces and terrorized my students and found nothing that I can be arrested for, I must ask you to please leave the premises."
He glares at her but nods. "Very well," he says. "But I'll be back in a month or so. Standard procedure follow-up, you understand."
Charlotte bites back the sharp refusal that leaps to the tip of her tongue. "Oh, I understand. Perhaps this...follow-up can be conducted with less property damage. Provided you're capable of that much decorum."
