I've completely resigned myself to being wholly consumed by The Losers. I mean. Times I've watched the movie in the last 10 days: 4. I'm probably going to go home tonight and watch it again, which will make it 4 times just since this Saturday. I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED. I've even read through the fics starsparkle333 linked me to, plus most of the ones that looked interesting/decent on AO3 already*. NEED. MOAR. NOW.

*Listen. I have been so tired and unhappy and unmotivated and cranky lately that mostly once I get home from work I fall into bed and cuddle with Kokomo and cry before forcing myself to eat something and eventually sleep. This is a bright spot in a dark field, okay?

I even ordered volume one of the graphic novel on Saturday, and I would be reading it if I hadn't, like an idiot, told Amazon to send it to my billing address (i.e. my parents' house) rather than the one I actually live at. (Dad said it arrived yesterday, so now I'm just sort of weakly reaching my arm out toward Jersey and weeping at how far away Thanksgiving is.) It's all a bit ridiculous, I know. :\

But I'm a bit disappointed that I haven't (yet) come across the AU where Clay and Roque are a snarky married couple who adopt two troubled kids (Cougar and Jensen) and one marginally well-adjusted kid (Pooch) and have to, like, adjust their lives to, IDK, make sure Jensen doesn't hack into the CIA database or something. I mean, come on, fandom, stop slacking. This AU should exist everywhere.

I would also like Aisha dominating the hell out of Jensen. Um.

(But, jesus, the Cougar/Jensen fic is pretty much the best. See also: all the excellent gen teamfic where they are all awesome and family-by-choice. *rolls around in it*)

I am going to make an effort to be less of a fuck-up over the next few days. These are the things I must accomplish:

-finish beta reading this Inception fic (halfway done, I can totally do this)
-finish my scenes in the XMBB
-decide which prompt I'm going to use for the Charles/Erik holiday exchange
-figure out how to make my Cap/Iron Man Secret Santa fic work (oh maaaaaaan all the excites)
-finish plotting my BBMU story and maybe write the first section (?)

In addition to this, I need to do something to keep me sane during the holiday season so I don't accidentally strangle any of the overbearingly cheerful baristas bopping around to fucking Christmas music (I came so close yesterday). I'm thinking of either making a themed mix a week, or posting a random song a day to tumblr. Maybe both. Thoughts on this, friends?

UGH. Just. They were in the military together, and they retire and get married! And Clay, like, volunteers at the local youth center, and these three kids just really stand out, and the social worker tells him all about how they're "too old" to be adopted and how close Jensen and Cougar are to being sent to juvie, and he just fucking folds. Roque is like, "What, seriously? SERIOUSLY?" But he says okay, and then it's all wacky domestic hijinks and keeping Jensen in school even though he's too smart for it and getting Cougar and Pooch to stop pranking each other.

Also, re: Starbucks and Christmas -- I love Christmas and I love (most) Christmas carols (AFTER Thanksgiving, obvs) and I love all of the Starbucks winter foods and beverages and their Christmas blend, but sometimes I just want to snottily ask the baristas why there's no Chanukah blend. I mean, it's not like they're claiming that this is the coffee favored by the baby jesus, but no, Christmas is still NOT a secular American holiday just because a vocal majority thinks it is.

It's not that I feel oppressed by tinsel, or whatever, I just dislike the growing expectation that everyone celebrates Christmas and we don't even have to pretend that there are other winter holidays.

That said, I was at a Starbucks in southern CA once that did in fact sell Chanukah mugs. Props to corporate for that! Plus, let's face it, a proper Chanukah blend coffee would taste like the disapproval of my ancestors, and no one wants to drink that.
