Officially moved into the new office. Nothing about this situation is truly ideal, but I have my own cubicle (no sharing a double-wide with [livejournal.com profile] pocky_slash) and no one can sneak up on me? And there's not much room in the cube for more bodies, so theoretically people won't insert themselves into my space quite as much. So there's that. \o? I have a ton of work-stuff to get done this week that I maybe put off during the packing process, and I need to get on that before the VP has my head. My vacation starts next week, too, so I should probably get all my ducks in a row before then.

The original plan for vacation was a trip down to Jersey, but I'm going to spend it in Boston instead. I'm probably going to sleep a lot, try to finish my big bang, and read some more books. If I can figure out the Cape Flyer thing, I may take a day trip down to the Cape and spend some time on a beach. I feel pretty good about this.

In reading news: I finished Cloud Atlas last night. AMAZING. I had no expectations going into it, just that the movie previews made it sound interesting, and I was utterly floored. I may need to buy a copy to keep forever (I'd borrowed the ebook from BPL). Started Rivers of London (Midnight Riot, whatever) and am pretty in love with Peter Grant so far. It reminds me a lot of the Dresden books (urban fantasy with mystery/detective storytelling), and I've been told that it does certain things better? We'll see.

Hannibal ended, and I can't really deal with that finale. [livejournal.com profile] paper_tzipporah and I started Orphan Black, which is just fantastic, and I'm eagerly awaiting the start of the third Almighty Johnsons series. Teen wolf is...well, it's Teen Wolf. I'm pleased with a lot of things that have been happening, but I've also been severely disappointed with some things. And I need to stay in my corner of the fandom, which is mainly just Joni and me at this point. At least the company is good.

I'm hungry, and I can't remember if the microwaves came with us or not, and I forgot to make a sandwich this morning. :\

I still need to watch Hannibal. I think it's next on my list after we finish Orphan Black, assuming I stay caught up on Teen Wolf and everything currently airing on ABC Family.

You also need to, you know, move into your new place, so you might want to take it easy. XD

Ooh, I'm about to start watching Hannibal. I missed the last half of Orphan Black, so I might pick that back up again. Also, dude, come talk to me about Teen Wolf! I don't know any other peeps besides Blue.

It took me a couple episodes to get into Hannibal, but it's totally worth it. Everything is incredibly detailed and really well done. Also, all the ridiculousness that the tumblr side of the fandom gets up to is A++ all around.

About 50% of my thoughts re: Teen Wolf are about how much I dislike Derek and having to look at Hoechlin every week. The other 50% is distributed between SURPRISE RACISM NO and THERE IS NOTHING MAGICALLY SIGNIFICANT ABOUT VIRGINITY and how much I love all of the humans on the show. So. /o/

I've blocked 'hannibal' on tumblr b/c I didn't want any spoilers before I watched it - will have to look for stuff afterward :)

Aww, I like Derek so... I'm no help to you there. And pretty much just eyeroll at all the issues b/c I just don't have the energy to get upset about it, you know? (Although, the virgin thing - I think it was you that posted on tumblr? I read that and was just like, yeah, yep, YES, please someone come up with a better explanation for this.)

Stiles is obvs my fave, but in a surprising turn of events, Allison is creeping up into 2nd place! And I hope they give Lydia more to do soon.

The only character I srsly can't stand is Peter.

Ahahaha, Peter's the only werewolf at this point I do like. XD

If I disregarded everything he did in s1&2, then I'd probably like Peter. But I'm mostly sitting over here hoping he's got some nefarious agenda that will be revealed soon b/c I am so not interested in him being redeemed in any way or becoming, like, part of the gang (as much as there can ever be a gang).

He can just sit in a corner and make smartass remarks for a while, as long as everyone still wishes he was dead, you know what I mean?

ORPHAN. BLACK. IT'S THE BEST. I really wasn't sure at the beginning if it knew where it was going, but by mid-season I was utterly hooked. Felix is my favorite, no one is surprised. But mainly I love how different Tatiana Maslany can make all of the clones, and I utterly adore Cosima and Alison.

I'm SUPER IMPRESSED by Tatiana Maslany. Like, how do you make your body and personality move 6+ different ways? I suspect witchcraft.

I haven't read Cloud Atlas yet but the movie blew my mind. I'm seriously considering picking it up at ye olde Walmart tonight. Book will be added to my to read queue accordingly.

I really really want to watch Hannibal! Also Orphan Black looks badass too.

Yeah, I need to find out if my library has a copy of the movie, and if not, where I can find one. I'm glad I read the book first because now I'm sort of prepared going into it.

Hannibal and Orphan Black are awesome! OB isn't something I would have picked up on my own, but I'm happy I did, and Hannibal is just. Awesome. I don't even know how else to describe it.

I'm all in favor of a space where more people can't jam into it and no one can sneak up on me. I hope it works for you!

OK, let me ask you a question. I'm not in the Hannibal fandom as yet, but I see a lot of gifs on Tumblr and whatnot and I'm dying to know - what's going on with Will Graham? Is he sick? Because he looks increasingly ill and I'm a little concerned.

He had (or has) autoimmune encephalitis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encephalitis#Autoimmune_encephalitis) and was being gaslighted by Hannibal (who knew he was sick and with what) to believe it was mental illness, not physical, at the same time. It was...intense.

Ohhhhh, thank you! That makes sense - he's looking pretty haggard in some of the last gifs I saw.
